I have recently been buying lots of Scandinavian stuff - Marimekko fabric, Ellevill MT, Bittebror MT, Bara Barn ring sling... it's all so fabulous.

I think I want to take a tour of Scandinavia for my next holiday - and bring a few very big empty suitcases over with me

That is a really good Idea. Well the suitcases, are so and so (:knegg:) but you won't regret the trip. My tip is to get out of the cities, drive around, find the hidden beautiful places that just takes your breath away.
You should see the place where I live in wintertime. It is very cold, everything is quiet the only sounds are the snow under your feet. In january (or was it february) when the sun comes back you may see three suns in the sky, because the tiny crystals in the airs makes illusions apear. It is just too beautiful... In summertime there is a lot of raindeers on the middle of the road. They tend to seek towards the roads when it gets hot. Tourists love that, I think it must seem very exotic. From here you can also drive half an hour and then be in Finland. In russia too, for that matter, but then you have to have a visum, and that costs money.

Hmm writing this I almost want too move here myself. Again. I really really love this place!!!

Oh those clothes are so cute!
And of course I include Denmark in the fabulous-ness :kult:

Supra where you live sounds amazing! My parents have travelled in Norway and Finland a little bit and they used to tell us stories about it when we were kids. So I guess I always think of that part of the world as being very exotic :)

my goodness, if you first "get hooked" on Norway, you have enough to do all your holidays for the rest of your life..

I didn't realize the brilliance of this country before I moved away from it myself.. and it was fab comming back!

At the present, I have moved up mountain, even though I'm more of a south-east-coast-person, and I love it. It took some getting used to, and now I am experiencing new great things every day.. scenery, hikes, people...
-and as they say.. when you go outside the bigger cities, you will find an enormous amount of local handicrafts and designs!

Must confess that I have fallen in love with other contries as well, though.. Brittain is facinating, Tzheck Republic is lovely, and I simply adore Sri Lanka..
But there's no place like home...

Come on over for a holiday! Maybe you could even drop in on a "carry-your-child-meeting" ? (in lack of a better translation for "bæretreff")

A scotophile myself, I also dream of visiting Ireland. It's one of the holiday destinations I've grown up coveting.

I would definitely have to call in on a carry your child meeting!
So when is best to visit Norway, summer or winter? I'm sure both have their charms....

We have carry your child meetings in Ireland too - we call them "sling meets".

We should organise two babywearing conventions - one in Norway and one in Ireland :kult:
